Trip log

Finally! We have an internet connection up here in the UP on Lake Superior. Every time we come up here Jesse from Baraga Telephone has to come out and figure why we are not getting "juice." And every time he fixes it.

The first leg of our journey took us all the way to Toledo, Ohio where we spent the night at one of their modern turnpike RV parks. It's pretty handy if you want to be on your way early the next morning. As we turned the corner into Michigan we always breathe a sign of relief as we leave the traffic and the population hoards of the east coast cities behind us. And as we travel northward Ah wilderness! On the second day we made it all the way up to Cheboygan at the tip of the lower peninsula and spent the night at Cheboygan State Park.

Next day, we made it across the Mackinaw Bridge and west to Baraga State Park not too far from our property in Skanee. We checked out the road first and it was a bit overgrown but clear. Steve Fair, our neighbor, had cut down a tree for us that was across the driveway and we were thankful for that . Anyway, here we are now at the property. It is cold and blustery but we are cozy in the motor coach.
