Images from the north country

Here are a few images from the trip up. The picture of me with the vehicles was taken at Cheboygan State Park on a perfectly lovely day. The next morning heading over the Mackinac Bridge was a bit more overcast. The photo with the red leaves is our view out the window at Baraga State Park in the upper peninsula. Michigan has numerous beautiful and comfortable state parks in the northern areas. In summer they are very popular but quite empty now off season.

It looks like the wind has lessened a bit this morning. It was really blowing last night and the lake and sky were wonderfully dramatic.

Yesterday we found our property sign that we thought was lost. It was made of driftwood in the shape of a heron's head. Sadly the beak was broken off but I think I will try to fix it with a shorter beak.
