Those who know me well know that I have a huge passion for excellent animated films. Like anything, there is a lot of overly-commercial, poorly scripted animated films out there. However, there are an amazing amount of good ones out there too. We are really in a golden age of animation with many excellent studios turning out amazing work. Last night we watched 9, a film largely designed by Shane Acker, a recent film school graduate. It had a beautiful sort of look to it, sort of World War 2 era. The story was exciting and the characters endearing. March must be the month for releasing excellent animated films and I am looking forward to several DVDs including Ponyo (the new Miyasaki movie) and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. March may be a miserable weather month but it seems to be the best month for toons!Sunday, February 28, 2010
Feeling Inspired
