Down they come

The north doth blow and the leaves are coming down. It is a good thing Richard put the screens on the pond early this year. We had a few lines of storms come through yesterday and we can see a real difference today. So hopefully all the froggies and fishies are starting their long winter sleep.

So today I am going to dwell on good news as the media seems to only be showing the not-so-good news.

Huge flocks of birds landed here today. The sky and the trees were thick and vibrating with all the bird chatter. Next week will be mostly cold and clear so I am sure they are headed for warmer climes.

I visited Dr. Davidson at Johns Hopkins on Friday and she continues to be very happy with my progress. She encouraged us to do something special for my 60th birthday coming up December 30th and so perhaps we will head down to Fernandina Beach, Florida for the holiday week. It would be nice and probably a relatively thrifty vacation as long as fuel prices stay low.

We still have a few nibbles of work in the design business and the pewter business is actually better than last year. Mostly we are selling baby gifts but Jefferson cups are another favorite. We do have a new line of inauguration cups but not too many have sold yet.

My first tray of wheat grass is sprouting so soon I will be serving wheat grass cocktails! Yum! Well, it will take some adjustment I am sure.
