The Snow Event Starteth

Our first really big snow event of the year is starting! The predictions are for 8-12 inches. Richard is poo pooing it and saying 3 inches. Perhaps tomorrow I will post a photo. We shall see. It is the perfect storm, moisture coming up from the south meets the cold pushing in from the north.

As you can see we still have the screens over the ponds. Soon it will be warm (hard to imagine) and they will be removed. Then comes the annual clean out of the leaves. Thankfully this is not the huge task it once was.

It has been another lazy weekend, not much to report from the homefront. We are still busy at work, more busy in fact, hooray!

This week I am proud to announce that my blog has actual followers (besides my Mom!) My friend Laurie (lorzen) wins the prize for the first to sign up, followed by my sister Alice and brother-in-law Tom  and last but not least, my dear husband, Richard. Welcome to my blog! I also am a follower of several blogs - favorite fiction authors George R. R. Martin and Diana Gabaldon. I also follow Kristen's Raw, a cookbook author who specializes in very veggie (raw) recipes - be brave and try her avocado-chocolate smoothie. I have not tried it yet but I sure will report if I do! I am hoping Kristen will help me with recipes for the more exotic veggies I get from my CSA. Anybody know how to prepare kohlrabi?
