A Long Walk

Many people I know walk a lot but lately I have not been doing it and I need to get out more. We walk more often when we are traveling but lately with all this incredible cold weather I find myself hugging the wood stove! Yesterday was lovely and sunny (still cold but oh well) so we put the dogs in the car and headed for Oxford and the waterfront. It was a really nice long walk and I was exhausted, out of shape, in spite of my pool exercise, qigong and pilates. Plus I need that vitamin D from the sun, so good for health reasons.

I also read a hopeful post/quote from The Cancer Journal today about a study of long term survivors of metastatic breast cancer. It is happening in some instances and encourages more studies for a possible cure. It is the first time I have seen the word cure in a long time in this context.
Hope, that is all I can say.

I also heard the news of the death of former Michigan State athelete and pro football player Brad Van Pelt. I remember Brad from my days at the MSU Bookstore. One of my jobs was to distribute the books to the students on athletic scholarships. Brad was not only beautiful to look at, he was also very kind person. I know there are a lot of Spartans and also NY football fans who are saddened by the news.
