Slowly, slowly

Richard is at work again as you can see, this time on our crumbling back porch. As I am writing this he has almost finished the whole top landing area except for the small bit. He is using a really nice blue stone tile that should hold up very well. Just recently he also finished our incredible wood shower. It now has battens, more shelves and other finishing touches. It is the most amazing and beautiful shower. Only people who know wooden boats will probably appreciate it. I imagine others will be skeptical. What? A wood shower?

I finally got the results of my MRI and am not totally happy. It looks like one vertebrate is in pretty ugly shape and is pushing against my spinal cord. I will be meeting with Dr. Zellars, my rad oncologist again soon but I imagine he will want to zap the pesky thing. A good thing no doubt but not looking forward to the 10-day marathon to Hopkins. Radiation has worked incredibly well for me on my femur and shoulder so all in all things should go well. I have been working with Janet Shibata, my pilates instructor to strengthen my back and abs which has been working great since I have very little pain. Sleeping is uncomfortable but nothing a few pills can't control.

We have had a bit of fun recently. We had dinner with Jim and Cindy Reed in Oxford Friday evening on the porch at Pope's Tavern in this heavenly weather. Last night we had a great time with Karen Hanish and Jay Corvan, our neighbors down the road.
