I did not plan this but when I brought my veggies home yesterday I accidently dropped a summer squash on the floor. Tater thought it was a prize and proceeded to munch away at it. Now who knew dogs liked squash? She really savored it and even ate the bits and seeds that were scattered about after she finished. Yet another use for zucchini and summer squash!I also got a spiralizer and have had a lot of fun making "pasta" and ribbons out of the zucchinis. It really has a nice texture and makes it taste somewhat different. Last night I made heirloom tomato salad and served it over zucchini spirals - it was very good! Toppings can be something like pine nuts for raw vegans or feta for those who eat cheese.
Last week was busy with bone scans, blood work and what have you. Everything happening at once in prep for my surgery. Really, it is all fairly easy except for the traveling, shuttling around and waiting for authorizations from the insurance company. The actual tests, etc. happen quite quickly.
It is still very hot here most days and I find myself hibernating. Richard is ambitious as usual and cleaned the whole outside of the house and deck this weekend. It looks beautiful.

I think Tater should win first prize for the cutest dog ever
She really is funny. My others are cute too but not as photogenic. Black dogs never photograph well.
Hee-hee, so funny to see Tater nibbling away rather daintily at her veggies. My own Sophie the Manic Corgi would not be so tidy. She is a cutie, love the way she is holding the squash with both paws.
Great pix, brightened up a bleary Monday. :o)
Tater can be very elegant and dainty...and then she can be manic as well! She has a very strange obsession with our frog pond and the door knob. Sometime I might blog about it.
that is one smart doggie!
good luck with your prep and surgery CF. You always inspire me with your workouts and spirit!

Thanks Deb. Tater says give Malcolm a big kiss for her. Surgery got put off until October. Yay!! Could not fit in all the pre op stuff so we moved it back.
