It is happening again - the Baltimore/Johns Hopkins Marathon! Actually not my favorite activity but it looks like I have another 10 rounds of radiation on some bad-boy achy bones. I met with Dr. Richard Zellars today and we are already signed up for a simulation on Wednesday. In the simulation they make a mold for your body so you can stay still. It is sort of fun because you lie in this warm gel pack and then they do a cat scan for the "target shooters." We don't know the schedule yet but probably the last couple of weeks in October. Usually I get a lot of relief from these treatments so it should go well. We had a good trip to Baltimore on this Columbus Day. The traffic was light because of the Holiday and we had a nice lunch at the JHU Cafeteria. We even saw our friend Christian there who was surprised to see us out of context. We usually see him at the Sleeper's Thanksgiving celebration in St. Michaels (he is their son-in-law).
My doctors still think I am doing well but they are trying a new hormonal medicine of a different sort in hopes it will do a better job than the Aromasin I have been taking this past year. It is doing okay but not enough. Some things better, some worse. Tweaking the balance. Overall feeling well and heading for the pool tomorrow!
